At Dental 133, we welcome patients of all ages to our practice, and we love to see children. We believe the dental office can be less intimidating when your family has their check-ups and cleanings together. Not to mention, it’s more convenient for you.
Our goal is to create a positive environment for your children from their very first visit, and with children of our own, we understand the anxiety you may feel when bringing your child to the dental office. Whether their visit is a routine check-up and cleaning or you're coming to see us due to pain or trauma, our team strives to make your visit as smooth and pleasant as possible.
We take this very seriously since a negative early experience may cause unnecessary fear of the dentist in the future.
Dr. Engelmann likes to see children for their first visits starting at the age of two. This allows us to spend time acclimating your child to the office and the instruments we use.
We’ll examine their teeth and monitor their oral development so we can catch any concerns early on. Your child’s comfort is our top priority, and we will always ensure that they feel at ease before we move on to the next procedure.
At Dental 133, you’ll notice right away that our office is very child friendly.
While sitting in the chair, your child will have the chance to watch a favorite television show or movie. If they feel anxious, nitrous oxide may be recommended to make treatment procedures less stressful for them. Nitrous is a breathable gas that is safe for your child and can help them relax and feel at ease during their appointment.
As your child gets older, Dr. Engelmann may recommend additional services such as fluoride treatments and dental sealants to help build and protect small teeth. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that can help strengthen your child’s teeth. Dental sealants cover your child’s molars and other important chewing surfaces with a protective coating that guards against tooth decay and cavities.
If your child participates in sports, we are happy to discuss and recommend the best protective wear for their needs. A mouth guard can help protect your child’s teeth and mouth from injuries that can occur during sports.
We look forward to meeting your child and building a relationship with them!
